Fairfax City, Virginia
Public contacts only. A listed shelter is not confirmation that your animal is there. For immediate danger, call 911.
Jurisdiction scope
City of Fairfax animal control only, not Fairfax County. Choose this only when you know the incident is in the city jurisdiction; a Fairfax postal address does not establish that.

The city lists Fairfax County as its shelter partner, but its West Ox Road referral conflicts with the county notice that this campus is closed. Call city animal control to confirm the current receiving facility before travelling. City shelter phone, location, hours and fees are not confirmed here.

Contact the holding facility now
We cannot determine a reclaim deadline from a state-wide hour count. The applicable rule may depend on species, owner notification, intake time, local policies, exceptions and business days.
Ask the facility where your animal is being held to confirm its status, reclaim procedure, fees and any deadline. Do not wait for an estimated date.
